Collé, Hochberg & Grey is offering brokerage services on art loans at no cost to clients. We represent individual collectors, galleries and institutional clients.
Asset-backed art loans are now far easier to obtain in the financial world. And there is a greater variety of financial structures to meet a client’s needs. Lenders offer loans starting at $50,000 and going up to several millions of dollars. Loans can be structured for the short-term or up to five years, sometimes more.
Unlike traditional art lending, these loans are not secured with a personal guarantee.
Types of Loans
Art can be used as collateral in several different types of loans depending on the size, duration and purpose of the loan.
For active collectors and dealers, there are new firms offering transaction financing. For those with substantial assets committed to art, there are loan structures to achieve greater liquidity while maintaining the foundation and integrity of a collection. For sole proprietors, there are loan facilities that can take advantage of real assets to provide attractive rates.
Collé, Hochberg & Grey will guide borrowers—or their financial advisors—through the process, help prepare documentation and due diligence to accelerate the process. CHG offers borrowers the opportunity to compare offers and obtain rates while maintaining the borrower’s anonymity until a deal is ready to be made.
We have several of lenders doing non-recourse loans above $1m on a 50% loan-to-value basis with rates often below 10% depending on loan size, duration, Loan-to-Value ratio and other terms.
Below $1m, there are multiple lenders who will to make business loans taking art as collateral or offer personal loans using the art as collateral. CHG will help you decide which option is the best for your, or your client’s, needs.
