Artcurial Scores Zao Wou-ki & Chu Teh-Chun

Chu Teh-Chun, Winter Synthesis (1988) €1-1.5m) €5.2m

In today’s sales of Post-War and Contemporary art at Artcurial’s Paris auction rooms got off to a rousing start with Chu Teh-Chun’s Winter Synthesis from 1988 selling for €5.2m above the €1.5m high estimate. The Chu was the second lot in the sale. The fourth lot in the sale was a slightly higher value Zao Wou-ki painting 24.1.61 which sold for €4.7m, which is a record for the artist outside of Asia, according to Artcurial.
