The Hotels de Ventes de Monte Carlo will sell on April 27th the last bust made by the sculptor Antonio Canova. This work is a bust of Lucretia d’Este and it was once owned by Alexander Baring of the British banking family. The work is estimated at between €2 and 2.5m. The last work by Canova to be sold was the Bust of Peace which Sotheby’s was able to get £5.3m for last Summer. That’s about €6m.
