Bonhams Goes Back for More on Fangor

May 10, 2018 by Marion Maneker

Bonhams has done well making a market in Wojciech Fangor’s work over the last few years including having established in the last two years the three top prices for the Polish artist. This Spring, Heather James Gallery opened their New York space with a show of Fangor’s work. Three years ago, Simon de Pury held the first show of Fangor’s work in the UK. A monograph on his work, Wojciech Fangor, Color and Space, was recently published by Skira Editore.

Next week, the cover lot for Bonhams Contemporary art sale is a Fangor from 1968 priced at $200-300k, pretty much right where his better works trade.
