The Fashion People Think ABMB Is Too Fashion Oriented

December 13, 2017 by Marion Maneker

It’s a little odd when the complaints about Art Basel in Miami Beach having become to fashion- and brand-oriented are coming from the glamour crowd and being published in WWD.

Here’s Paul Sevigny among half a dozen or more party people polled:

There are huge corporate sponsors now — in the same way that Sundance changed and Coachella. This year I feel like there are so many people doing it now that it’s actually calmed down a little, just because it’s so spread out. There are so many different festivals. I don’t know how many of these things the art world takes seriously anymore.”
