Phillips London New Now = £2.49m

December 8, 2017 by Marion Maneker

The search for undervalued historical masters isn’t the only trend in the Contemporary art market as Phillips London New Now sale this week made nearly £2.5m and showed a strong appetite for emerging artists:

Simon Tovey, Head of the New Now Sale in London, said: “Shara Hughes attracted widespread interest from nine phone bidders, as well as interest in the room and online. We saw worldwide participation from across 48 countries, and a 71% increase in online buying year-on-year, as well as new auction records achieved for nine artists including Sung Hee Cho, Ida Ekblad and Krištof Kintera.”
