
Melanie Gerlis’s Financial Times column announces that James Rosenquist’s estate has has moved from the artist’s dealer Acquavella:
the estate of American artist James Rosenquist, who died in March, has chosen a European dealer, Thaddaeus Ropac, as its global representative. Mimi Thompson Rosenquist, board director of the estate and the artist’s widow, says of Ropac’s representation, “Jim’s work and legacy is in great hands.” The gallery has Rosenquist’s eye-catching “The Meteor Hits the Swimmer’s Pillow” (1997) ready for its Basel booth ($950,000). Rosenquist’s next major institutional exhibition opens at the Ludwig museum in Cologne in November.
