Sotheby's 2016 Breakdown

Sotheby’s aggregate sales for 2016 were:

  • Consolidated sales were $4.9 billion, compared to $6.7 billion in 2015, so down 27%
  • Auction sales were $4.2 billion, compared to $5.9 billion in 2015, so down 29%
  • Private sales were $583 million, compared to $673 million in 2015, so down 13%
