October 5, 2016 by Marion Maneker

This Gunther Forg work from 2007 made its high estimate at Phillips tonight. That sale is part of a larger trend. Artprice produced this very interesting chart of the Contemporary artists with the most transactions from July 2015 to Jun 2016.

You can see from the chart that Forg is the sixth most traded Contemporary artist on the public markets. All togehter, his 193 works sold for $10.9m or an average price of $56,727. So this Forg was definitely on the higher end of his market. The Artprice chart is after the jump.art-price-most-traded-cont-artists
