Hauser + Wirth continues to hoover up artist’s estates. The gallery approaches a dozen, including Mike Kelley and Philip Guston, with the addition of Arshile Gorky.
“He was one of the giants, but a quiet giant,” says Iwan Wirth, Hauser & Wirth president, of the Armenian-born American artist. “We want to make his influence even clearer.” The gallery’s first Gorky exhibition will open in New York in 2017, then travel to Los Angeles.
