Sotheby’s just announced that its May sales will take place from May 9-12 and incorporate a single week of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art sales.
Sotheby’s is pleased to announce the schedule for the marquee May 2016 auctions of Impressionist, Modern & Contemporary Art in New York. Reflecting today’s market, and in response to the evolving taste of the world’s great collectors, Sotheby’s will present one week of auctions preceded by a dynamic, ten-day exhibition.
Utilizing over 65,000 square feet of gallery space, more than a century of art – from Monet, Picasso and Giacometti to Calder, Warhol and Sherman – will be presented together in an exhibition curated by specialists from Sotheby’s newly-formed Fine Art Division. Kicking off the week of auctions on 9 May will be Sotheby’s sales of Impressionist & Modern Art, followed by the Contemporary Art sales
