Which Artists Have Today’s Most Valuable Markets?

November 2, 2015 by Marion Maneker

Artlist Top Artists 4yrs 2015

Artnet was kind enough to pull this list of the top artists based on the last four years of sales. We’ve eliminated the Chinese artists without substantial Western markets. The result is 35 artists who have substantial markets by total auction sales over four years.

Total sales isn’t everything. We also wanted to know which artists had works with the most value evenly distributed across the sales. That list is below and shows you the difference between an artist with a large and broad market like Andy Warhol and an artist whose works are extremely valuable like Mark Rothko.
