Bonhams Continues to Dominate Irma Stern Market with $1.2m Sale

IRMA STERN, ‘Arab in Black’ Sold for £842,500 (US$ 1,298,672)

Bonhams South African sale last week achieved $1.2m for this Irma Stern painting, Arab in Black. That’s the 16th highest price paid at auction for a Stern, according to Artnet’s price database, and the 9th work of the those top 16 prices that Bonhams sold.
