A Look at How Elite Galleries and Collector-Dealers Like the Mugrabis Are Beginning to Use eBay’s Art Platform

October 7, 2014 by Marion Maneker

FC Art on eBayHoward Greenberg Gallery has a storefront on eBay. The Mugrabi family does too. Though now they’re put their company name on it. The Mugrabi family trades through their Fashion Concepts corporate name. Hence, the eBay gallery has been named FC Art.

The Mugrabis have taken an interesting tack in presenting their art works. Each item on the site has a broadly descriptive title more in keeping with general eBay practices. Here’s how a Julian Schnabel painting is described: “Large painterly work from renowned American artist and filmmaker Julian Schnabel.”

Here’s what they say about their Basquiat drawing: “Early drawing by the “Radiant Child,” American painter Jean-Michel Basquiat.”
