Christie’s July First Open = $4.87m + $1.8m Online

In another sign that the Contemporary art market isn’t only powerful prices at the top, Christie’s second foray into a July First Open sale was another strong showing backed by a good estate collection. Christie’s usually doesn’t record its online sales but, in this case, we’re seeing $1.8m in online-only sales. Here are some highlights from both sales:

Ellsworth Kelly, Romanesque Series (Formerly Third Curve Series) (50-70k) 106,250 USD
James Nares, Take 118 – Blue Black (10-15k) 87,500 USD
Gerhard Richter, Souvenir (no. 48) (30-50k) 80k USD
Donald Judd, Untitled (20-30k) 68,750 USD
Parker Ito, The Agony and the Ecstasy (20-30k) 52,500 USD
Marisol, Untiled (White Box) (8-12k) 50k USD
