Picasso Avedon Detail

It’s nice to see that art is being used as a currency all over the world. Here’s a report from Iran’s PressTV about a Picasso seized in the heart of Central Asia:

Iran’s police seized the art piece when a person was seeking to sell the painting for USD 900,000 in the village of Ultan located near the town of Parsabad in Iran-Azerbaijan border, the head of Anti-Contraband and Currency Trafficking in Ardebil provincial headquarters announced.

The art experts of  Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department in Ardebil attributed the discovered painting to Picasso based on comparisons with the artist’s other works.
