Artviatic, the Monaco-based private sales platform founded by Antoine Van de Beuque, has released information on its first year or more of sales. The total transaction volume is almost €6m ($7.9m) from works by Max Ernst, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Serge Poliakoff and Victor Brauner negotiated between buyers and sellers from Monaco, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, the United States and China.
Specializing in works above €150,000, the platform charges a fee to members keeping the works on offer from being widely circulated. Currently, the site has paintings, sculptures and works on paper for sale by Rodin, Renoir, Pissarro, Cézanne, Marquet, Derain, Mondrian, Chagall, Magritte, Picasso, Maria Elena Vieira da Silva, Zao Wou-Ki, Valdès, Richard Prince, Zhang Huan and others.
The fledgling firm is so excited at their performance, they’ve provided a testimonial from a Swiss dealer who sold an Impressionist work on ArtViatic last June:
I would never have thought of selling a work on the Internet, especially not one worth €800,000. I put a work up for sale on ArtViatic and in less than two weeks it had a buyer.”
