Skinner’s Stuart Slavid did a stint on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow where a Rhode Island woman brought a plate that had hung over her stove for years. She had recently learned it was a Picasso Madoura plate but didn’t know all that’s been going on in the Picasso ceramics market over the last few years:
It’s difficult to say why the ceramics have become so high in demand in the past four or five years, he continued, but as he says in the video, “trends change in the antique business, and what’s changed with this is Picasso has just skyrocketed.”
