Christie’s LA Head Fiuczynski Goes to Sotheby’s

January 9, 2014 by Marion Maneker

Andrea Fiuczynski

A Christie’s spokesman tells us that Andrea Fiuczynski, managing director of Christie’s LA, is leaving and the NYT is reporting she is taking a role at Sotheby’s on the West Coast. Rita Boyle, VP in Christie’s Estates & Appraisals Group, has been named interim head of Christie’s LA office effective immediately. In total, there are a dozen staff, including specialists and executives, in place on the West Coast, the spokesman said before adding:

We thank Andrea for her years of service with the company and her many contributions as both auctioneer and head of Christie’s Los Angeles office. She leaves in place a strong and experienced team of specialists and executives in our West Coast offices who will continue to support the needs of the region’s private collectors, trade clients and institutions.  For the interim period, Christie’s has appointed Rita Boyle, Vice President, to head our LA office and associated client activities, effective immediately. We wish Andrea well in her future endeavors.
