If You Choose Well, You May Never Want to Sell

June 5, 2013 by Marion Maneker

This CNN Radio piece on investing in art is entertaining especially as the experts try to explain to the uninitiated just why one work is worth so much more money than the others. However, the story does close with a quote from Abigail Esman that deserves to be remembered. Investing in art is not for the weak-willed or impetuous but always remember:

“If you love it, buy it. If you choose well, one day you’ll be able to sell it for a profit, and if you choose very well you probably won’t want to.”
