Top Auction House Turnover

The Economist recently published these numbers on world auction house turnover to underscore the importance of China in the art marketplace. However, looking at the chart, it is more striking that a Russian owned auction house, Phillips de Pury, is third in volume and would still be third if it combined forces with the biggest of the Chinese firms, Poly International.
