Basquiat on Top of ArtPrice’s Top 25 Contemporary Artists 2011-2012

October 17, 2012 by Marion Maneker

ArtPrice has released its report on the Contemporary art market covering July 2011-June 2012 and we can see that the Spring market has cooled from the previous year. London’s anemic sales—aside from the big Richter sale—suggest we’ll see some tempering in New York next month as well.

In the meantime, the top dog is Jean-Michel Basquiat and Christopher Wool has popped into the top ten but otherwise remains the same.
