Lost Gerôme Painting Descended from Artist’s Daughter to Sell at Art Curial

October 8, 2012 by Marion Maneker

Art Curial’s December 11th sale in Paris will feature this Jean-Leon Gerome painting that descended directly through the artist’s family:

The descendants of Madeleine Gerôme, the daughter, kept the totally unheard-of piece in the artist’s family until this day. With an estimate price of € 800,000 / 1,200,000 the painting has every chance to attract collectors and institutions.
