Sherman’s March

April 23, 2012 by Marion Maneker

MoMA’s Cindy Sherman retrospective—along with a series of strong prices at auction for her work—has set off a market saturating rush of work this May in New York. By our count, there will be 26 Shermans on offer in two weeks time. Many of those are Centerfolds, including another example of the original print being offered at Christie’s.

Each of the three auction houses has a Centerfold in their Evening sales along with some other examples of her work totaling seven Evening lots and 19 day sale lots.
