February London Cont Sale Charts

The Contemporary art sales in London were strong but without peak prices. That may have led to less impressive headlines but the real story was buried inside the overall numbers.

Evening sale totals were far below the peak of 2008 yet the average price paid during the Evening sales have reclaimed the same level. With fewer eight figure lots sold, the recovery of the average price suggests an overall price level that is even higher than 2008.
