Strauss South African Sale = R32m ($4.16m)

South Africa’s Strauss & Co. held a sale that brought in 32m in Rand with 82% of the mixture of art, jewelry and decorative objects. The top lots were:
  1. Irma Stern  Woman Wearing a Pink Hijab R 8 355 000 ($1.08m)
  2. Irma Stern Two Seated Arabs  R 2 785 000 ($362k)
  3. Stanley Faraday Pinker   Girl in Sunglasses  R 1 448 200 ($188k)
  4. William Joseph Kentridge  Head R 868 920 ($113k)
  5. Stanley Faraday Pinker The Bathers  R 835 500 ($108k)
