Colnaghi Renovates

January 9, 2012 by Marion Maneker

London’s Colnaghi opens its new space with the New Year having moved upstairs at 15 Bond St. where there is a library, dining room and exhibition spaces:

The square footage available, 3,095 sq ft, is almost exactly the same as now but with a different layout, offering impressive viewing space for exhibitions as well as more intimate rooms where clients can view and discuss potential purchases in private.  There is also eminently suitable space for one of Colnaghi’s greatest treasures, the comprehensive art reference library which has been at 15 Old Bond Street since the gallery moved there over fifty years ago.

Ever since 2001 when Colnaghi was bought by Konrad O. Bernheimer, the successful Munich-based art dealer, who was joined by Katrin Bellinger now co-owner and director of the Drawings Department, the firm has consolidated its position in London, expanding its European client base and maintaining its reputation as one of the pre-eminent international dealerships in Old Masters.
