New York Imp Mod Evening Sales in Perspective (Charts)

The New York Evening sales of Impressionist and Modern art may have seemed to be rocky but in historical perspective they were right in line with the 11-year average. Granted that average changes when you divide the period into pre- and post-boom averages. Then the sales were below par (see chart below.)

Finally, for the year, the New York sales were back to an average in line with the totals seen in 2004.
