The Tate issued an embargoed press release earlier on the 12th outlining their Frieze purchases that day by the Outset fund:
The Fund, now in its 9th year, enables Tate to acquire works by emerging and leading international artists from London’s Frieze Art Fair. This year the £150,000 made available by the Fund is the highest ever.
This year’s selection panel is Nicholas Serota, Director, Tate and Tate Curators AnnGallagher, Frances Morris and Tanya Barson. Each year, two prominent international curators are invited to work alongside Tate’s curators to select works from the Fair. This year they are José Roca, Artistic Director of Philagrafika 2010 and Curator of Mercosul Biennial 2011 and Adam Szymczyk, Director of the Kunsthalle Basel.
