Swann African-American Breaks Out

 After several years of cultivating its African-American sales and breaking ground on a whole new market, Swann Galleries had a big payoff this week with it’s best African American sale ever.

The auction house did it without relying on a singular work, though it had help from the $306,000 paid for Charles White’s Work. But even without that lot, the sale would have been its best in three years:
