August 1, 2011 by Marion Maneker

ArtInfo.com says Sotheby’s art handlers received notification on Friday not to come to work until the dispute between the company an the art handler’s union is settled:

Temporary non-union workers will take their place until the Teamsters agree to a list off concessions, said Jason Ide, president of Teamsters Local 814. The 43 union art handlers received letters on Friday telling them not to come to work on Monday, and they will be unable to retrieve paychecks until a settlement is reached.
