The Student Who Sold Out

July 12, 2011 by Marion Maneker

Colin Gleadell’s mention that Jackson Sprague’s degree show has sold out set off a flurry of interest:

Some attention was focused this year on the Royal College of Art, which was holding its fine art show in the new Battersea campus,[…]. Collectors Lady Vicky Conran, Charles Saatchi and David Roberts all attended the show, where more than £85,000 of students’ work was sold, including most of the paintings. One of the artists to sell out was Jackson Sprague, whose painted plaster sculptures priced from £700 to £1,700 won favour with David Roberts, in particular.
