I/M v. Cont Art, NY Evening Sales, 2006-Present

The May sales are upon us beginning next week with the Impressionist and Modern auctions, followed by a very long week of Contemporary sales at all three auction houses. The combined Evening sales estimate for Impressionist and Modern Art are $321-$462m. For Contemporary art, the combined estimate, including the Allan Stone estate and Phillips de Pury, is $473-$661m (this estimate range does not include the buyer’s premium.)

Below is a chart of the New York Evening sales over the last five years with an average of the estimates for the upcoming sales at the end.
