Christie's London I/M Eve. Sale = £61.88m

Lot 1: Ensor sells within est. for £240k hammer

Lot 2: Rodin makes £300k hammer just above the estimates.

Lot 3: Schiele makes £370k, almost double the high est.

Lot 4: Morandi easily tops the est. to £1.2m

Lot 5: Braque sells at the low est. of £3.5m

Lot 6: Matisse sells well below low est of £1m for £670k

Lot 7: early Picasso (above) sees metronome-like bidding up to £3.5m, then slow movement to ¢4.3m

Lot 8: Picasso sells at £360k, not even close to the £450k low est.

Lot 9: Degas almost gets the high; £4.8m hammer

Lot 10 Bonnard does nicely above the £4m high est. to sell for £6.4m

Lot 11: Pissarro can’t quite make the £1m so sells for £950k

Lot 12: Not a good day for Pissarro who passes at £1m

Lot 13: Monet Petit-Gennevilliers sells toward the low end at £3.3m

Lot 14: withdrawn

Lot 15: Goncharova takes a while to break the low estimate but then there’s a slow grind to the high end where it sells for £3.5m

Lot 16: Derain doesn’t really get going but sells for £5.2m, a solid price.

Lot 17: Gauguin passes at £5.8m no one seems surprised.

Lot 18: Feininger just gets into the estimate range with £1.1m

Lot 19: Léger work on paper handily makes £220k

Lot 20: Léger from Palevsky estate sells way below the £2.2m low estimate at £1.4m

Lot 21: Picasso still life is the latest painting to sell below the low est. (just) at £550k

Lot 22: Picasso blue period drawing sells to absentee bid of £720k also below low est.

Lot 23: Picasso drawing gets a good £420k

Lot 24: Picasso drawing passes at £200k

Lot 25: Picasso drawing makes £190k

Lot 26: Léger gets £650k on the hammer over a £450k high est.

Lot 27: Henri Laurens/Picasso collaboration gets £450k which is shy of the low est.

Lot 28: Léger sells for £850k, just breaking into the estimate range.

Lot 29: Henry Moore Goslar Warrior struggle to £1.6m but gets there and sells.

Lot 30: Giacometti passes at £850k. The Giacometti market is not doing well this week in London.

Lot 31: Picasso girl accepts £1.85m even though the estimate starts at £2m

Lot 32: Picasso Tete d’homme does better and sells above the high estimate at £750k.

Lot 33: Van Dongen Lilli Damita portrait starts miles from the low estimate but finally makes it over the estimates to sell  for £2.7m (left)

Lot 34: Picasso asses at £300k

Lot 35: Chagall does very well in advance of the Sotheby’s set of four with a hammer price of £1.45m.

Lot 36: Bonnard passes at £200k

Lot 37: Chagall sells for £800k.

Lot 38: Pissarro view of Dieppe also passes at £400k

Lot 39: Cézanne sells for bottom est. of £250k

Lot 40: Pissarro again fails at £480k

Lot 41: Kokoschka portrait makes £1.6m hammer price.

Lot 42: Bonnard Armistice sells well below the £300k low est for £260k

Lot 43: Soutine passes at £400k

Lot 44: Renoir £700k

Lot 45: Van Dongen passes at £700k

Lot 46: Munch Madonna print puts the ¢400k high est to shame with a £500k sale.
