Mary Louise Schumacher always deserves more linkage than she gets but yesterday she had a nice story about a couple who donated their collection to a Milwaukee Museum:
The Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University has been given three collections of modern and contemporary art valued at $1 million.
Michael and Mary Tatalovich, both alums who graduated with degrees in art in 1963 and `64 respectively, donated 80 works of art, including pieces by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
The museum also received 30 photographs by New York street photographer Frank Paulin from the Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York and 25 modern and contemporary photographs from an anonymous donor in Los Angeles.
The Tataloviches, both former public school teachers, began been collecting modern and contemporary American prints shortly after they married in 1965. The Haggerty exhibited some of their collection in 1997 and `98.
