Sotheby's Cont. Evening Sale = $222,454,500

November 9, 2010 by Marion Maneker

A subdued sale at the top of the market at Sotheby’s with Warhol, Rothko, Lichtenstein and Bacon selling well but without excitement. Richter made an impressive showing. Seven of the top ten lots were won by private buyers. Of the 54 lots offered, 49 sold for a 90% sell-through rate.
