Sotheby's HK Painting Results = $60.7m

Sotheby’s held a group of paintings sales today in Hong Kong with strong results:

  • Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings  HK$77,912,750  US$10m
  • 20th Century Chinese Art HK$137,313,750 US$ 17.7m
  • Property from an Important European Collection (Asian Cont.) HK$49,927,500 US$6.4m
  • Contemporary Asian HK$205,896,250 US$26.54mm

That $60.7m in paintings sold. With half the total — $32.94m — going to Contemporary Chinese Art making it a strong come back for the category.
