Southern & Blain Strike Back

September 26, 2010 by Marion Maneker

Georgina Adam reports in the Financial Times on the other shoe dropping in the Haunch of Venison saga. After the founding partners in Haunch of Venison sold the gallery to Christie’s and subsequently left the company earlier this year,

Haunch of Venison […] is facing an exodus of artists – including major names Bill Viola, Mat Collishaw, Anton Henning and Rachel Howard – to the new venture set up by its former directors Harry Blain and Graham Southern. […] Blain Southern […] will launch next month in Dering Street, Mayfair, with a show of works by Mat Collishaw. The Mayfair space is a temporary venue while Blain Southern’s new, purpose-built gallery close by is being completed; it will open in 2012. And the firm also has plans to open a space in New York.
