Sexing Up Allen Jones

The only news out of Phillips de Pury’s gimmicky Sex sale was a new record price for Allen Jones, according to the Telegraph:

Soft Tread, by British Pop artist Allen Jones, was executed in 1966 and had not been shown in public for 40 years. […] Estimated at £60,000 to £80,000, it attracted four or five bidders as it marched into six figures and sold to an anonymous buyer for £361,250 – double the previous record for Jones.
