James Frey + Shaq = Big Art

February 19, 2010 by Marion Maneker

Shaquille O’Neal is branching out into curating with another controversial figure–part-gallery owner and author James Frey. The New York Times has this item:

His first exhibition, “Size Does Matter,” opens today at the Flag Art Foundation in Chelsea. The show, which runs through May 27, explores “the myriad ways that scale affects the perception of contemporary art” and includes works by Chuck Close, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, Kehinde Wiley, Lisa Yuskavage and others. And if that wasn’t enough to get your attention, a catalog with an essay by Cleveland native James Frey will accompany the exhibition.
