Rubell Collection's New Director

January 21, 2010 by Marion Maneker

New York arts site, Unbeige, covers the appointment of Juan Roselione-Valadez as director of the Rubell Family Collection/Art Foundation replacing Mark Coetzee who became the head of Puma’s social responsibility initiatives:

Born in Brazil and educated at Cooper Union, Roselione-Valadez has worked at the Rubell Family Collection since 2001, most recently as collections manager and acting director. “We are so pleased to appoint Juan to this position at this pivotal moment in the Collection’s history,” said Mera Rubell, in a statement issued earlier this week. “He has a keen understanding of our family, our collection and the Foundation’s role as a public institution and resource.” Roselione-Valadez worked with the Rubells to organize and produce “Beg Borrow and Steal,” the foundation’s current exhibition that was the talk of Miami during Art Basel.
