The third Joburg Art Fair is gearing up for March in South Africa:
This year about 21 galleries will take up 5 000m² of floor space to showcase the best African art. They include Afronova Modern and Contemporary, Bailey Seippel Gallery, Brodie/Stevenson Gallery, David Krut Projects, Everard Read Gallery, Gallery AOP, Gallery MOMO, Goodman Gallery, Jo Ferreira Gallery, Rooke Gallery, Seippel Gallery, SMAC Art Gallery and Whatiftheworld Gallery.
Artco Gallery, CCA Lagos, Galerie Ames d’Afrique, Galerie Beatrice Binoche, Galerie Peter Herrmann, Gallery Watatu, October Gallery and Omenka Gallery will also be at the fair. Artists featured will include William Kentridge, Penny Siopis, Willem Boshoff, Billie Zangewa, Owusu Ankomah and Yinka Shonibare, among others. […]
Since the first fair, in 2007, it has done well, attracting the best artists. It is becoming the place to buy, sell and view modern art from across Africa.
“Prices for art on sale can range from a few thousand rand to a few million. Visitors can expect quality ranges of affordable artist prints from galleries like Artist’s Proof Studio and highly priced investment pieces by well-known established South African artists at galleries like Everard Read and Goodman Gallery,” McClure continued.
The Joburg Art Fair will run from 26 to 28 March at the Sandton Convention Centre.
