The Asia Pacific Triennial brings together 313 works by 160 artists from 25 countries. It has been visited by 200,000 people already, according to the Brisbane Times:
“This means an average of over 4800 visitors per day have experienced APT6 across Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Art Gallery – an outstanding result for any exhibition,” he said. “The public and critics alike have been amazed by the scope of the show.”
Mr Fraser said the APT was the only recurring exhibition in the world to focus on the contemporary art of Asia, Australia and the Pacific. Queensland Art Gallery director Tony Ellwood said public and critical response to APT6 had been inspiring. “We are particularly delighted with the visible diversity of audiences coming from a variety of communities within Queensland, as well as from interstate and overseas,” he said. “The work of both established and emerging artists and the efforts of the gallery’s curatorial team, collaborators and staff have culminated in an exhibition that explores Asia, the Pacific and Australia like never before.”
