Update: The WSJ’s Candace Jackson re-affirms the appointment and says it will be announced later today.
The press conference scheduled for today by LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art–widely believed to be a platform to announce Jeffrey Deitch’s decision to become the director of the museum–has been postponed.
The LA Times does a little quick back-pedaling in their announcement to add these possible names to the horse race:
Among the names circulating for the MOCA job are Jeffrey Deitch, a New York art dealer; Lisa Phillips director of the New Museum in New York, and Lars Nittve, former director of London’s Tate Modern, now with the Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
