Art Bows to Pop Music

August 24, 2009 by Marion Maneker

The Los Angeles Art Show discovered that it was scheduled on the same weekend as the Grammy Awards. Even with 35,000 visitors for the 2009 edition, the Art show decided discretion was better than aggression and moved their dates to make the mess of traffic, parking and hotel accommodations easier on all sides. Here’s FADA’s announcement:

FADA’s 15th Annual Los Angeles Art Show has changed the dates of the 2010 fair to January 20-24, 2010.  The Los Angeles Art Show will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center with an Opening Night benefit to take place on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010.  Presented by the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA) and KR Martindale Show Management, show organizers collectively decided to make the shift so that the fair would not overlap the Grammy Music Awards, scheduled to take place at the end of January.

The LA Show has 130 exhibitors and expects 15,000 works to be on display in a broad range of fields from Old Masters to emerging art.
