[intro] Here’s a New Game: Identify as Many Artists as You Can in Douglas Cramer’s House [/intro]
The Wall Street Journal is featuring Douglas Cramer’s Litchfield County home in its pages. The 103-acre property is being offered for $9.3m. But the pictures offer a chance to see some of Cramer’s collection:
The 77-year-old Mr. Cramer, who also helped found the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, calls himself “an addictive collector of houses and art.” The main house, an 11,000-square-foot shingled Colonial, has four bedrooms, a wine cellar and a gym. Mr. Cramer began 12 years ago with 50 acres and added nine more adjacent properties, including an art barn, a dam and three bridges over a large brook. There are croquet and badminton courts. He says, “It’s like Topsy, it just grew.”
