  • opens strong with Aivazovsky, Polenov and Kryzhitsky all selling well.
  • The Kryzhitsky made £289k against a high estimate of £80k.
  • Couple of lots fail, one was withdrawn before the auction began. Then a few prices within estimate.
  • Long lost Brodsky painting thought to be a Manet sells for £927,250!
  • Bad streak as Larionov, Korovin fail but second Korovin goes for the low end of the estimate range.
  • Kustodiev goes for £2.8m, almost 2x high estimate.
  • Yakovlev makes £541k against £300k high est.
  • Roerich £702k above £500k high est.
