Kapoor to Show at Royal Academy

May 28, 2009 by Marion Maneker

Bloomberg reports on the announcement of a major exhibition of Anish Kapoor’s work at the Royal Academy this fall:

For the first time, the Academy’s main-floor galleries will be devoted to a living contemporary artist. The show also marks the Academy’s drive to focus on works by the 80 academicians, Kapoor included, who run it — all of them painters, sculptors and architects.

The show will include at least two works made out of red wax. One Shooting in the Corner will accumulate as red wax is fired from a cannon into a corner several times each day.
