Saltz: "This Isn't Art"–or Is It?

March 14, 2009 by Marion Maneker

New York Magazine’s Jerry Saltz is enjoying making videos. Following up his excellent Armory Show star turn–“Don’t leave a brother hangin’!”–he returns to the Martin Kippenberger show at MoMA to re-encounter his own reactions to Kippenberger’s work. Here he rather boldly remembers thinking about Kippenberger’s work: “That’s not art!” But the retrospective changes his mind. (Sorry about the video not being embedded. We’re having a slight technical glitch. When it’s sorted out, the video will be watchable here on ArtMarketMonitor.com)
