Sotheby's Into Indonesia

February 23, 2009 by Marion Maneker

Sotheby’s announced the opening of an Indonesian office today led by Deborah Iskander, a former investment masriadismallbanker who moved to the country in 1991. To celebrate the appointment and the debut of the Jakarta office, Sotheby’s will hold a preview later this week of 30 Indonesian works  from the auction house’s upcoming Hong Kong sale of Southeast Asian art to be held on April 5th. The top works in the sale are, of course, two by Masriadi and one by Affandi, all estimated at around HK$ 700,000.
